Kirkcudbright Jazz Festival

Loch Lomond Get Active Festival

Edinburgh Treefest & Woodmarket 2008

The 2008 Edinburgh Treefest & Woodmarket is the 7th event of its kind and again promises to be a popular destination for people of all ages! There will again be the great range of interactive crafts, demonstrations, including ~ chainsaw work, tree climbing, extreme mountain biking, axe throwing, willow work, wood carving, renewable energy, displays, games, activities and entertainment, as well as excellent food and refreshments.

Bike Week 2008

Bike Week is the national focus week for cycling, aimed at getting 'more people cycling more often'. The week features locally organised events such as bike-to-work breakfasts in the workplace and cycle training sessions, right through to long distance mass participation events.

Shetland - Bergen Races

The Outsider

Mugdock International Music Festival

National Whale and Dolphin Watch 2008

Help map the distribution and variety of dolphins, whales and porpoises around the Scottish coast. Join trained observers from Sea Watch Foundation, a marine conservation research charity, to record sightings of species such as minke whales, killer whales and bottlenose dolphins.

Mendelssohn on Mull Festival

The Hebridean Challenge

The Hebridean Challenge is one of the toughest and most demanding adventure races in the world and takes place in the Outer Hebrides. Over 5 days competing teams travel the length of the islands from Vatersay in the south to Lewis in the north with sections of hill running, road running, road and mountain biking, sea swimming and sea kayaking.

Common Riding Festivals

Each Borders town celebrates its history with magnificent rideouts involving hundreds of horses, ridden with a passion worthy of the reivers old. These unique celebrations are a survival of the ancient practice of marking a town's boundaries and continue today as distinctive and colourful expressions of civic pride and tradition.

Robert The Bruce Festival

A spectacular celebration of King Robert the Bruce will take place in Dunfermline's Pittencrieff Park, in the shadow of the royal palace he once occupied. There will be jousting, re-enactments, live music, a medieval village, craft fair and much more for the whole family.

The Battle of Bannockburn

Hundreds of re-enactors will come together on the exact anniversary of Scotland's most celebrated battle to create the biggest re-enactment of this important event. There'll be archery, falconry, weapons demonstrations, children's entertainment, an all-out battle and much more !

The Buckie Festival

The streets of Buckie will be host to a thrilling promenade performance and over 300 people from throughout the region. A spectacular outdoor extravaganza choreographed by theatre MODO, of music, dancing and performance builds to a huge firework finale, the welcoming of the flotilla and a grand ceilidh.

Moray Firth Flotilla

The vision is of a fleet of traditional boats voyaging from Wick to Portsoy with the Scottish Traditional Boat Festival. The ports offering harbour to the flotilla will make the visit a celebration. Ceilidhs bringing music, dance and storytelling will give communities a chance to participate in the event.

Bard in the Botanics

Scotland's only annual outdoor festival of Shakespeare returns for an encore of this popular event that promises something for everyone. Since the first phenomenally successful 'Bard in the Botanics' festival, thousands of visitors have come each year to see Shakespeare performed in the beautiful and historic surroundings of Glasgow's Botanic Gardens.

Newcastleton Traditional Music Festival

Gardening Scotland

Edinburgh Sevens

The Loch Lomond Food and Drink Festival

3 Harbours Arts Festival

This festival will take place between the three harbours of Prestonpans (Morrisons Haven), Cockenzie and Port Seton in East Lothian and is all about hosting artwork in ingenious spaces - houses, halls, galleries, businesses, etc. There will also be a series of workshops, demonstrations and children's art activities.
