Lanark Christmas Continental Market

Specialist traders coming from all over the UK will be selling a range of unusual gifts, and specialist crafts, food and drink on both sides of the town's wide High Street. Santa will also be arriving in a reindeer- pulled sleigh to help switch on the town's Christmas lights. A heritage fairground and all-day live entertainment, from choirs and bands to panto will get everyone into the Christmas spirit.

Dundee Mountain Film Festival

In its 25th year, the festival will feature mountain film showings, and presentations by luminaries such as Andy Cave, Will Gadd, Børge Ousland, Marko Prezelj and Stephen Venables.

Edinburgh's Christmas

St. Andrew's Day

St. Andrew's Day is celebrated all around Scotland. There are various activities in Scotland's six cities, including massive free ceilidhs in Princes Street Gardens, Edinburgh and George Square, Glasgow. Also, more than 60 of Scotland's top visitor attractions from Skara Brae to Edinburgh Castle will open for free on St Andrew's Day.

Pantomine Season

Winterfest Glasgow

Fiddle 2008

Radiance

Glasgow's biennial International Festival of Light returns to the city centre. Follow a trail of buildings transformed by the installation of light, including Glasgow Cathedral, through Glasgow Green, the Merchant City, the Commercial District, Strathclyde University and Buchanan Street.

Between Two Worlds

Enjoy a night-time forest journey into a hidden world that will captivate your imagination. Light and sound reveal the mystery and beauty of the historic Glenmore Forest and bring its ancient legends to life. This 'must see' event involves art, music and light, created by sculptor and environmental artist Diane Maclean and light artist Malcolm Innes.

Voices in Paisley

Voices in Paisley will have two strands this year, The Paisley Choral Festival, a unique event in Scotland, and Fringe Voices which caters those whose musical tastes lie in other vocal styles. Highlights include The King's Singers, The Valaam Ensemble and The Taylor Wilson Jazz Trio.

The Enchanted Forest

Scotland's premier sound and light show returns to Faskally Wood near Pitlochry with 'Creation'. Spectacular sound and lighting effects will be used to illustrate the earth's history from its early volcanic state, the Ice Age and the Jurassic era right through to modern times.

Perthshire Amber-The Dougie MacLean Festival
