ABOUT THE OATRIDGE
A FAMILY RUN HOTEL
A family business
As a family run business we greatly value and appreciate every patron of the hotel. It is for this reason, we strive to provide a first-class service for every visitor to the hotel.Amenities include free breakfast and parking, a genteel restaurant with a fireplace and a bar with a pool table, as well as a beer garden.
The Oatridge is a Georgian style hotel originally built in the early 19th century before being burnt down in 1805 and rebuilt in 1810, the current building you see now.
Originally built as a Coaching House with stables in the rear. In 1825 there were 6 coaches passing through Uphall each day (except Sundays).
Coaching services ceased in 1845 but The Oatridge grew in popularity as a posting house, horse hiring and finally as a popular inn just as it continues to be and has been managed by the MacGregor family for over 40 years.

reeeeally noisy, unpleasant conversations. no plant based meal options, food wasn't good, staff weren't helpful, stuck in a boomer era... nah.

29 January 2020Great quality of steak and we have experienced it before but mum and dad haven’t so we booked a table for the four of us so dad could have his... read more steak. Service as always first class and mainly served by Fraser ... he is an asset to this establishment . Drinks ordered and menus perused and mum had a small portion of fish and chips and peas , dad had the 8oz ribeye cooked medium and to perfection served with onion rings and a few chips and I asked for gravy as he loves gravy and sure as anything the gravy went down well as did the steak. Locally sourced steak and the quality is amazing . Hubby had the sea bream and again beautifully cooked ( any many know fish can be easily overcooked ) The flavours were delicate but married well with the dish. Me ... I had the beef curry served with a naan and rice and chips . Half rice / half chips which is a great concept . Lovely sauce accompanied the beautiful good quality beef. Me I had vanilla ice cream and mum had a mix of ice cream. Sadly she couldn’t finish it as she enjoyed her fish and chips so much that she was full. Yes there are offers and so those on a budget can experience the deals . Steak for obvious reasons on that day were not on the deal menu but I think they still have the steak nights with deals . Just call and ask. Thanks again Fraser for
